There are a number of different hotels in Trogir. Even with so many reviews online it’s hard to know which places are worth staying at.
During my trip I stayed at the Hotel Rotondo.
What’s great about this hotel is that is located outside of the city center. There’s no fuss trying to find parking. The location is quieter and more relaxed with hardly any tourists around.
Staying at the outskirts of Trogir provided me with more mobility. It was easy to hop in the car and explore anywhere nearby.
On foot you can walk over to the small fishing Village of Seget Donji. It’s 10 minutes away and a total hidden Gem in Croatia!

A Review of the Hotel Rotondo in Trogir
Check-In and Interior
Parking was available at the side of the hotel. After parking and getting our luggage I made my way into the lobby.
The lobby is spacious and clean. The marble floors give it modern and luxurious look.
The receptionist checked us in right away. The process went quickly and we were off to the room in minutes.
Before heading up to my room I checked out the rest of the hotel.
On the ground level was a large wellness center. It featured a small pool, spa, hot-tub (not working), dedicated gym and a shower/locker area.
On the main level was a large restaurant and seating area. I’m not sure if there is a dinner service at the hotel. In the morning this restaurant is where breakfast is served.
Opening the door to the room the two large windows were the first thing I noticed.
I ran over to the balcony to see what the view was like.
The balcony door opened up onto a large balcony with seating for two people. Of course we had to grab a seat and enjoy the amazing view for a while.
Heading back into the room, I discovered it was spacious, clean, and well-equipped for a short-term stay.
Along with the balcony there was another large window in the corner. From here was a different view of the Adriatic and surrounding village.
Off in the distance I could see the church tops and orange roof tiles of Trogir!
The large windows rewarded us with an abundance of natural light. At night we left the windows open to take advantage of the cool coastal breeze.
The large bed took up the center of the room. Unfortunately, the bed wasn’t comfortable and needs to be upgraded or changed.
Despite being comfortable bed, I could see out of both the windows while laying down. At night this meant I could see the stars and a few lights from planes flying overhead.
One great feature about the room is that there are a number of different plugs and outlets. This is great for travelers with a lot of electronics that need to keep everything charged.
Some of the other features included a large desk, wardrobe, and an additional seating area.
There was a oversized chair with an awkwardly placed table by the window.
For a short-term stay in Trogir this hotel has all you need, especially if you’re looking for something reasonably priced.
The bathroom features a typical Eastern European style of design. There are brightly colored tiles, an electric towel warmer, and more than enough towels.
The large window in the bathroom let’s in plenty of natural light. During the day you never have to use the lights at all!
It’s great having both a shower and a bath tub, especially if you’re planning on visiting the beach. You can use the shower for cleaning off and the large bathtub for rinsing all of your beach supplies.
My girlfriend appreciated the bath and loved being able to go for a hot soak after a long day of exploring.
A small selection of amenities was included. There were large towels available for bathing or taking to the beach.
The bright red color of the bathroom helped to make it feel even more spacious and bright. This is definitely preferred rather than dark and cramped like many hotel bathrooms often are.
One thing that was unusual was the toilet paper.
It came out in these small sheets instead of being a normal roll. This made it awkward to prepare and annoying to use.
Other than that I was very pleased with the bathroom. It’s a great size and equipped with everything one or two people would need for a short-term stay.
Interested in staying at this hotel? You can expect to pay about $85 USD total.
Keep in mind that this price includes breakfast. It’s quite a good rate if you’re looking to explore the region or you want to relax away from the tourist crowds.
The small cities of Trogir and Seget Donji are easily accessible nearby. You could even go on a quick day trip to Split.
Not many other hotels in the area offer such an extensive breakfast, on-site pool, and free parking along with such a great location.
These days it’s important that hotels offer a fast and reliable internet connection. The Hotel Rotondo offered just that.
Before getting into my room I noticed that there was a Wi-Fi router attach to the wall in the hallway. I’m not sure but I’m assuming that this was the case on each floor.
The results of the positioning of the router was quick internet and a reliable connection. I was able to upload photos, videos and watch YouTube without any issues at all.
Whether you’re traveling for business or you’re just looking to stay connected online you’re able to do so at this hotel thanks to the great internet that it offers its guests.
The historic old town of Trogir is 5 minutes down the street by car. It’s a 30 minute walk if you want to avoid having to deal with parking.
The small fishing Village of Seget Donji is right beside the hotel.
This is somewhere I would definitely recommend checking out if you get the time. It’s a quaint Croatian fishing village that not many tourists ever get the chance to visit.
Just down the street from the property is a secluded beach. Within walking distance are small markets, restaurants, and a few cafes.
The airport in Split is easily accessible as well. It’s 6 kilometers away – a short taxi drive.
Breakfast is served in the restaurant on the main floor of the hotel. Serving starts at 7 AM.
There are a range of different options available. These include:
- A selection of juice, hot coffee and tea drinks
- Sausage and bacon
- Pastries, cookies and bread
- Sliced meat, cheese and some veggies
- Hard-boiled eggs
It’s also possible to have some eggs prepared for you. Depending on your preferences you can order scrambled eggs, an omelet, or anything you feel like.
Make it a point to wake up on time and head to breakfast. The variety in options is surprising and having breakfast at the hotel is a great way to save money.
I would only recommend staying at this hotel if you’re driving. Public transportation isn’t readily available and there are better options if you’re relying on the bus or train.
As for the parking, there’s room for about 10 cars in the parking lot on site. There might be additional parking behind the property although I didn’t take a look.
If you don’t feel like driving into Trogir you can have the receptionist order a taxi for you. It’s a short drive and the taxi fare should only cost a few dollars.
My stay at the Hotel Rotondo was pleasant.
The spacious room, great locationm and good breakfast would definitely leave me recommending this hotel. It’s a great choice if you’re looking for somewhere to stay near Trogir.
