I was recently sent a pair of the SCOTTeVEST Travel Boxers and I thought it would be a good idea to leave an in-depth review and explain why I think these should be considered if you’re looking for the best underwear for travel.
I’m also on the lookout for new products since I hate relying on just one brand for something just in case something happens like they change the style or design of their product or if they simply go out of business.
In this case I’m happy to have gotten a chance to try out the SCOTTeVEST Travel Boxers and I’m definitely adding them to my travel gear arsenal.
These days I’m all about finding gear that’s lightweight, easy to wash and quick-drying. These boxers offer all that but with a few more features that actually make them quite unique.
In my SCOTTeVEST Travel Boxers review I want to go over all of the different features of these boxers as well as cover the few additional features that make them very well suited for world travelers.

Before I dive into the review here’s a little more information about SCOTTeVEST.
SCOTTeVEST is a clothing company that strives to provide “smart” clothing for those looking to take advantage of some features that you don’t typically find in more toned-down, regular styles of clothes.
For example, they’re most well known for their travel vests and what makes the vest so special is that it gives anyone wearing it the ability to fit a range of travel accessories into the vest pockets without sticking out.
The icing on the cake is that the vest even has a RFID-blocking pocket that help to prevent anyone from stealing your passport info or skimming your credit card data.
That’s a totally cool piece of gear!
So now that you’re able to see a little more about what SCOTTeVEST is about, let’s finally take a look at my travel boxers review,
My SCOTTeVEST Travel Boxers Review
The boxers are designed from a blend of 93% nylon and 7% lycra spandex which makes them lightweight and offers a little bit of stretch.
The waistband is made from a blend of 73% polyester, 22% spandex and 5% nylon.
Similar to the ExOfficio boxers I reviewed these have also been treated with an antimicrobial Aegis treatment and this helps to make them odor resistant and stain resistant.
I find that the material is soft to the touch and a little bit stretchy but doesn’t feel too unusual like some of the other nylon boxers that are available.
I’ve only had the SCOTTeVEST Travel Boxers for about a week now and although I’m not able to comment directly on their long-term longevity I am very happy with the overall build quality with such a short duration of experience.
The waistband is stitched very strongly to the actual boxer material and the waistband itself is a lot thicker than some of the other boxers that I’ve used.
When I stretch the box of material there isn’t that much to give but when I’m wearing them there is just enough mobility to keep everything down there in place without becoming too loose or too baggy.
With gym shorts I did notice that they were bunching up a bit at the crotch but that’s because these are more of a boxer style rather than a boxer brief, which is going to hug your thighs and fit a little tighter.
Otherwise, if I’m wearing regular shorts or pants then I haven’t noticed any bunching problems and I found the boxers to be quite comfortable and airy.
The material that they’re designed from gives them a lightweight feel and the nylon doesn’t retain moisture very much so the boxers don’t get soggy or damp even when it’s quite humid outside.
What makes these boxers stick out from all of the rest that you can find online these days is the fact that they are designed with two separate pockets that you can use to store your cell phone, passport, local currency, travel documents or anything else in.
There is one pocket on the front of the boxers and another one on the back and I find this to be a pretty ingenious feature which makes these very suitable if you’re traveling somewhere that you don’t want to keep your important items in your regular pants pocket or you just want something that helps to prevent pickpockets.
Sure, you could travel with a dedicated money belt but those tend to be quite bulky and it’s just one more thing that you have to worry about.
With the pockets on the SCOTTeVEST Travel Boxers you’re able to just add your smartphone, passport or anything else to the pocket and then just slip your pants or shorts up over your boxers with everything being hidden from view and hard for anyone to access other than yourself.
It can also be hard to keep track of what’s in your pockets when you are walking around and exploring a new city so having these pockets built into your boxers is a pretty awesome feature and it’s just one more additional level of security that you’re able to take advantage of.
These boxers are touted as being travel boxers and I definitely find that to be the case.
First of all, like I already mentioned, these boxers are very lightweight so I’m easily able to just toss them into my luggage or my backpack without having to worry about whether or not I can fit everything inside.
They can be folded up or rolled into quite a small size and their weight means it’s possible to pack a few extra for the same weight that you could expect with cotton underwear.
Another feature that makes them so good for traveling with is that they are very quick drying and easy to wash.
Not only do they have an anti odor and stain resistant treatment apply to them but they can also be quickly dried right after you hand wash them in the sink or shower so they’re ready to go the next day.
When you’re washing them I recommend wringing them out to the best of your ability before you hang them to dry and it was my experience that they dry overnight if left indoors and in the direct sunlight they are dry after just one hour.
Why You Should Travel With The SCOTTeVEST Travel Boxers
Hopefully, after reading this SCOTTeVEST Travel Boxers Review, you’ve gotten a better look at these boxers and there’s enough information provided that you’re able to make an informed decision about whether or not they’re suitable for you.
Overall, I think that these are one of the best options when it comes to travel underwear and they’re especially well-suited if you’re someone that prefers wearing boxers instead of boxer briefs.
They are lightweight, easy to pack into a backpack or suitcase, quick drying and the two pockets offer a lot of versatility when it comes to your security and what you can travel with.
Keep in mind that if you’re looking for something with a tighter fit you’ll want to look for boxer briefs and otherwise if you like boxers and you want a looser, more ventilated fit then I would definitely recommend checking out the SCOTTeVEST Travel Boxers.
